Now for the IR controlling you will need to build a IR
receiver/demodulator for the serial port. This is very simple and here are
the schematics. You can use the following IR receivers:
- Vishay TSOP 1738
- Vishay TSOP 1838
- Vishay TSOP 11.. series
- Siemens SFH 506 (not produced any more)
- Siemens SFH 5110 (successor of SFH 506)
- Mitsumi IR Preamp KEY-COOSV (0924G)
- TOSHIBA TK19 444 TFMS 5360
- TEMIC TFMS 5380 by Telefunken Semiconductors
- Everlight IRM-8601S
- Sony SBX 1620-12
You will need the following:
- C1 - 4,7uF capacitor
- D1 - 1N4148 diode
- 9-pin or 25-pin SUB-D socket
- R1 - 4k7 resistor
- IC2 - 78L05, 100mA, voltage regulator (TO-92 casing)
